Book an afternoon tour of the Pilanesberg Heritage sites.

 

In this tour, guests are taken from our collection points, to see the Bakgatla Ruines and the Grave sites, located in and around the Pilanesberg Game reserve.

 

Guests get to visit the ruins of lost tribal villages, as well as the grave sites of the former Bakgatla kings, among them, the grave of Kgosi Pilane, the king whom the Pilanesberg was named after.  

 

The tour will include a tour guide and a driver. The tour guide provides a fully guided tour of the ruins, while providing insights of the area and the wildlife, as and when they encounter them within the reserve.

 

The tour starts from Sun Village. Where guests will be given a brief introduction on the tour ahead and what they can expect. When guests arrive at the various sites, their guide shows guests the sites and provides the historical background of the various sites. Once the guests have been taken through the different sites, the tour guide will conclude the tour for the guests.
 

Shuttle will collect all guests from our designated collection points 10-15min before the tour is scheduled to start. Alternatively guests can meet the shuttle at Sun Village which is the official starting point of the tour.
